Bendtner Value To Be Sunderland Top Scorer

Danish international Nicklas Bendtner is top value to be Sunderlands leading goalscorer this season . The lanky Dane has already scored twice for the Black Cats in the Premier League this season and has been in outstanding form for his country in the last two months .

Bendtner has scored five goals in his last five internationals and can look forward to playing a "big" role for Denmark in next year's Euro Championships.

23 year old Bendtner has made nine starts for Sunderland this season with his two goals coming against West Brom and Bolton and the 6ft 3in star is looking forward to the forthcoming home games against Wigan and Blackburn . Bendtner told SAFC that "We (Sunderland) could be in a strong position coming out of the next three games( inc Wolves away) but it won't be easy he warned".

It is well documented that Sunderland have a lack of strikers , Connor Whickham is currently injured , Stephane Sessegnon is not a goalscorer and even if the Club splash out on a striker in the January transfer window as is hoped , Steve Bruce is unlikely to attract an out and out goalscorer to the Club.

The main challenge to Bendtner being top Sunderland scorer this season is either injury , which is in the lap of the gods or Seb Larsson who has clearly demonstrated his technique with three goals for the club and two for Sweden so far this term . However Larsson is very unlikely to score more than six or seven goals in any Premier League season and Bendtner can probably be crowned Sunderland top scorer with nine or ten goals this season which he should be easily capable of .

The Dane scored nine Premier League goals in 31 appearances for Arsenal in the 2008/09 season and is undoubtedly a far better player now.

At only a shade of odds on , 10/11 is very fair value and Bendtner is worth a flutter with Stan James bookmakers and can post his record Premier League goals tally for Sunderland this season .
